Children’s Sustainability Initiative

Building Self-Reliance Through Agriculture and Livestock Projects

Background and Rationale

Across many children’s homes, daily operations depend on irregular donations, leading to food shortages and financial uncertainty. This dependency limits not only access to nutrition but also opportunities for children to learn practical life and work skills.

The Children’s Sustainability Initiative seeks to break this cycle by creating a self-reliant model through small-scale agriculture and livestock projects. The initiative includes cows for milk, a vegetable farm, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, fish ponds, rabbits, and doves, forming an integrated system where every project supports the others.

By combining food production, skills training, and income generation, this program will strengthen food security, promote self-sufficiency, and prepare children for independent, productive futures.

Vision Statement

To build a self-sustaining children’s community where agriculture and livestock projects provide nourishment, skills, and hope—empowering children to lead independent, productive, and compassionate lives.

Core Objectives

  1. Food Security: Provide fresh, nutritious, and locally produced food for children.

  2. Skills Development: Train children in agriculture, livestock care, and entrepreneurship.

  3. Economic Empowerment: Generate income to support education, healthcare, and daily needs.

  4. Environmental Sustainability: Practice organic farming, waste recycling, and water conservation.

  5. Community Engagement: Collaborate with local farmers, volunteers, and partners for shared growth.

  6. Holistic Growth: Build values of teamwork, responsibility, and care through hands-on learning.

Mission Statement

To equip children with essential life and agricultural skills through hands-on sustainability projects that provide food, income, and education, promoting holistic growth and environmental stewardship.
