Rehabilitation Center

Why Religious Sisters of the West of the Rift Valley Need a Rehabilitation Center

For decades, Religious Sisters serving in the West of the Rift Valley have selflessly dedicated their lives to the care of others. They have ministered in some of the most challenging environments—supporting vulnerable children, women, the sick, the poor, and those affected by conflict, poverty, and trauma. Often working with limited resources, these sisters carry immense emotional, physical, and spiritual demands in faithful service to God and community.

Over time, prolonged exposure to hardship, trauma, and chronic stress takes a toll. Many sisters experience emotional exhaustion, compassion fatigue, unresolved trauma, physical strain, and declining mental well‑being. Cultural expectations of silent endurance and self‑sacrifice can make it difficult for them to seek help, even when rest and healing are urgently needed. Care for caregivers is essential; those who give their lives in service also need spaces where they themselves are seen, supported, and restored.

A Rehabilitation Center will provide a sacred space of rest, healing, and renewal for Religious Sisters. It will offer trauma‑informed care, counseling, spiritual accompaniment, medical support, and opportunities for reflection and renewal. Such a center will allow sisters to process their experiences, restore their strength, and reconnect with their vocation in a healthy and life‑giving way.

Investing in the well‑being of Religious Sisters is an investment in the communities they serve. When sisters are cared for, their ministries are sustained, and countless lives continue to be touched by their compassion. A Rehabilitation Center will ensure that those who have given so much are themselves cared for—with dignity, gratitude, and hope.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a dedicated Rehabilitation Center for Religious Sisters of the West of the Rift Valley—a sacred space offering holistic, trauma‑informed, and compassionate care that supports emotional healing, physical renewal, and spiritual restoration. By caring for caregivers, we honor the dignity of sisters who have faithfully served others and ensure their well‑being, resilience, and renewed capacity for mission.

Vision

We envision a future where Religious Sisters are supported, restored, and strengthened—able to serve with renewed joy and wholeness. Through a place of rest and healing, we seek to sustain their vocation, affirm their dignity, and strengthen the communities they serve by ensuring that those who give so much are themselves lovingly cared for.
